Wrap Me Something Delicious
Dear Fool Spoon lovers, in this episode we are going to make a quick wrap. Of course, vegan or meat, this burrito will be loved and devoured by everyone. And why is that? Because I tried it!
What’s in it? 🌮
A burrito is a compact system where you fill a tortilla with whatever you have and stuff it. It’s all about finding out what works and what doesn’t. Of course, as always, I did a few experiments for you. You’re welcome.
First of all, I’m sorry to say that turmeric didn’t work out. I mean, it’s not like I didn’t try it. I tried it. You know, I have a particular interest in turmeric and I try to put it in every dish. But the first time I tried it, I realized that turmeric was not going well. I made a face, shed some tears, and even though the household liked it, the experiment was a failure for me. So for the second experiment, I decided to try curry. Voila! (We all live in a yellow submarine… yellow submarine… yellow submarine…)
I will spare you the experiments and give you the successful recipe directly. First of all, if your kids don’t like spinach, obviously they won’t notice that there is spinach in this wrap. How would they know? We wrap it and hide it. That’s what smart parents do. Second, you can put all kinds of nutritious ingredients in the wrap to make it both delicious and healthy. For instance chickpeas, tofu, spinach, lettuce, curry, corn, Mexican beans…
Ingredients 🛒🫘🥙🌽
1 can of chickpeas
1 cup spinach
About half a cup heavy cream
Curry
Tofu / vegan chicken / gyros / whatever you find
Salad
French fries if you like
I prefer tofu as you can see in the photos, but I tried vegan gyros once and it was delicious. So add whatever you want. It is not very important. I can easily give a recipe like this. This ridiculous convenience is what separates me from other food sites.
How do I prepare the wrap? 👇🏻🤷🏻♀️
Oh, it’s not that hard. In fact, it’s pretty easy. I mean, even I do it. How hard can it be?
Firstly, we wash the canned chickpeas. (For those who don’t know, if you take the water from the chickpeas and whisk it until your arm falls to the floor or you’re bored enough to pull your hair out, you get white foam. The stuff they use in desserts, it’s called aquafaba whipped cream).
Then add oil to the pan and fry the chickpeas. When they change color a bit, add the curry. If you are going to add tofu, slice the tofu and drain it well with a paper towel. Add tofu, gyros or whatever you like.
Now you can wrap everything together
Let’s take the tortilla and fill it. Top with the salad. French fries if you like. Oh, that would be great. If I’d thought of it first, I would have added them!
Anyway, what was I saying? Heh, yeah. Then you stuff it (lettuce, Mexican beans, corn, etc.) and close the head and butt side first. Finally, fold it over, heat it up in the toaster or on the grill. It’s that easy, sweetie.
Serve with guacamole, ajvar, hummus or curry sauce. It’s up to you.
Is that all? 🙄
Yes! If you have the ingredients in your fridge, you can make three or four wraps in 15 minutes. If you force it a little, it’ll be five. Ta daaa! 🎉💃🏽🎉
Well, my freezer is like an entrance to a concert. Everyone’s pushing each other. My kid has to go through peas and blueberries and parsley and onions to get to the ice cream. Life isn’t easy, honey. 😜
So filling the freezer is extremely boring, but it’s also time-saving.
Let me see, oh, that’s nice! You’re really good at this! Bon appetit!
